Come to this welcoming community on scenic Lake Champlain, across from Burlington, Vermont, where compassionate healthcare providers take pride in caring for friends and neighbors.

Annually, this medical center sees around 825 babies delivered, 46,000 emergency room visits, and 19,000 surgical procedures. This is an excellent place to teach or learn – all much bigger than what you might expect in a rural area. The University of Vermont Medical Center, a level I trauma center, is just 1 hour away.

We seek a primary care physician interested in offering non-operative Obstetrics to join the CORE FACULTY with a role that’s 60% clinical (including precepting residents) and 40% administrative. Your Admin time will focus on administration of the residency program and curriculum as it grows and expands. They are committed to creating a learning environment to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded medical training experience. The program’s mission includes training physicians to become leaders in offering high-quality and high value patient-centered care for people of all ages in their communities.

This program is celebrated by the hospital and its community. The residency has a wonderful leadership team and excellent faculty members, including two academic hospitalists that lead inpatient services. Several highly engaged specialists from multiple medical disciplines also teach in the clinic and hospital. The program has 18 residents. The first class graduated in 2019.

The primary setting is the Family Medicine Center, in a medical office building in historic downtown Plattsburgh just 5 minutes from the hospital. Equipped with state-of-the-art resources, EPIC EMR and 25 exam rooms, the clinic utilizes a team-based approach to patient care. The team consists of 7 primary care physicians, 18 residents and 3 primary care advanced practitioners. Additional faculty includes an OB/GYN, an Infectious Disease physician and APP, and a Podiatrist. Together, they represent one of the largest Medical Home Collaborative projects in the country, managing some 19,000 patients annually (a typical daily volume of 120 people).

Candidates with prior ACGME experience will receive priority consideration. MDs and DOs are equally welcome here. Candidates requiring J1/H1b visa support are encouraged to apply. This is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

You will earn a very competitive salary with benefits including relocation assistance and student loan repayment. Also provided: liability insurance, medical, dental and vision insurance, disability and life insurance, plenty of paid time off for vacations, paid leave plus a budget for your CME, participation in a retirement plan, and more. Details will be shared with qualified candidates.
